Wildfire Recovery ‘Photovoice’ Townhall Meeting
October 28 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Photovoice Study Presentation:
A Mixed Methods Study of Residential Adjustment Following Wildfires
This study focuses on understanding how place attachment influences the decisions people make after disasters, specifically decisions about where they live and whether they invest in measures that reduce their risk to future disasters. Focused on four California counties that have been affected by recent, major wildfires, findings from this study will help local governments and practitioners develop programs that better support households that are affected by disasters and inform community planning for hazards associated with climate change. This collaborative research is supported by funding from the National Science Foundation.
Join the Butte County Fire Safe Council and fellow Butte County community members to hear the results from the photovoice study, carried out in Butte County over the past two years.
When: Sunday, October 27th from 4:00–5:30 pm
Where: Paradise Stronger, 6848 Skyway, Suite P, Paradise, CA 95969
