This workshop aims to:
- Increase participants’ knowledge and understanding of using good fire for forest health and community safety.
- Learn how to use good fire to control invasive species, increase native plants
- Build community while advocating for best practices in forest health and management
- Present volunteer opportunities to work with community members to reduce fire risk.
We have an all-star lineup of presenters:
- Zeke Lunder, pyro-geographer who runs The Lookout and represents Deer Creek Resources, Fire Storm
- Ali Meders-Knight, Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) Master Practitioner, who runs TEK Chico
- Dallas Koller, who runs Butte County’s Prescribed Burn Association through the BC Resource Conservation District
- Ken Scherer, owner of KOrganics and member of the Biochar Coalition
- Steve Feher, Butte County Fire Safe Council and member of the BioChar Coalition
- Tibor Teachout, Voice of Biochar and member of the Biochar Coalition
