Butte County Community Climate Action Day

Volunteers needed!
Join hundreds of volunteers for an impactful morning in Butte County, working with multiple local partners to improve wildfire safety and climate resilience! Volunteers are invited to attend a kick-off event in Cedar Grove in Lower Bidwell Park and a post-service free lunch and resource fair. Depending on the location of the event, volunteers will check in at Cedar Grove or meet straight at the volunteer site. At the kick-off, volunteers will sign in, receive a free t-shirt and coffee, and hear from multiple guest speakers.
Butte County Climate Action Day Projects:
- Bidwell Park- Tree planting and fuels reduction
- Little Chico Creek– Neighborhood canvassing and fuels reduction
- Verbena Fields– Oak tree planting
- Magalia Community Center– Native garden installation
- Moore Road Ball Park in Paradise- Doom the Broom and tree pruning
- Butte Creek Ecological Preserve– Invasive plant removal
- Stirling City– Community green waste disposal
Event Schedule:
9:00 AM: Volunteer check-in at Cedar Grove Picnic Area and Meadow
9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Welcome Program
10:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Service projects at Bidwell park
12:30 PM – 2:30 PM: Free lunch and family-friendly resource fair!
