Request for Proposals: Community Protect Prescribed Fire Support Services

Dear interested contractors,

The Butte County Fire Safe Council is soliciting Request for Proposals from qualified contractors to provide prescribed fire support services on an as needed basis for the Community Protect Prescribed Fire Support Project. Project work will occur throughout the Plumas National Forest on United States Forest Service lands.

Selected contractors will support prescribed fire operations conducted by the USFS under a continuing contract arrangement extending until June of 2028. All insurance and certifications must always be current during the duration of the contract. Work assignments will be issued as project needs arise. Contractors will be compensated through a fixed daily equipment rate. All mobilization and transportation costs for requested equipment shall be included in the contractor's fixed bid amount. Compensation shall not exceed the "Not to Exceed" amount established within the contract.

Contractors and their employees must possess a current and valid Cal Fire Hired Equipment Card and/or RT-130 Certification. Any hand crews utilized under this contract must meet NWCG Standards for Wildland Fire Position Qualifications.

Timeline:

  • Any inquiry regarding this RFP must be submitted in writing to [email protected] by Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, by 4:00pm.
  • Responses shall be made in the form of "Addendum to the Document" and shall be furnished to all bidders via e-mail by Thursday, June 11th, 2026, by 4:00pm.
  • Bids shall be submitted to BCFSC via email to [email protected] on or before Tuesday, June 16th, 2026, by 4:00pm.

Sealed hardcopy proposals may be dropped off at the BCFSC office at 6569 Clark Road, Paradise, CA 95969, or mailed to P.O. Box 699, Paradise, CA 95967.
